I've had the same binder for a very, very long time! I have been keeping my eye out for a better one - my favourite part is the little pocket on the inside where I put the coupons that I'll be using - it's not a common thing on binders. It's cheap to start a binder...1st find a decent binder, you don't want the rings popping open etc. Buy some sports card holders at Dollarama to put the coupons in, just fold them if they don't fit. And if you want you can label them into sections. I've had mine in the same order for a long time - not sure why I picked that order but I'm used to it now and I know where everything is. I have sections like snacks, cereal, dairy, shampoo, kitchen, frozen foods etc. It's easy at the store to just flip to the right section to quickly find what you need.
I'm not an "extreme" couponer so a regular size binder works for me...it fits into the grocery bags I always bring to the store anyway so it's no bother to bring it along. I know some people use boxes to organize them now.
I like that this binder also has an inner pocket where I put coupons I find in the store to sort later...Once you start couponing you notice what you need. I started with a cheap binder and an envelope taped to the front of it to hold the day's coupons.
What do you guys use to organize your coupons? What sections do you have? What are the best binders out there?

I started out with a file folder and that lasted about a month. Then i went to a binder system and that worked great - till i droped it and the coils opened and every thing went everywhere in walmart - i went to dollaramma and bought binders with zippers (I bought two and seperated it into food and other - i find it easier) I have other section to your list such as pharmacy, canned, pet, baby, tooth, Household - I need to break up my beauty to shampoo, soap boy/girl. At our local coupon club meeting in Saskatoon i say a lady use photo holder with ring holes for the larger coupons what a great idea - so now i'm on the hunt for cheep holders.

I don't really use my binder anymore since there are so few items we find coupons for, but one thing that I found really helped was to have one or two of those pencil cases with the holes in the bottom that goes into the rings of the binder. It can be used to put carry a pen, calculator, etc., and I also put my coupons to be used that day in it so they were easy to find.

I don't find a lot of coupons on items we buy regularly, so I just have a small accordian folder (from the dollar store) and just pull out coupons on the day I need them. Or sometimes I take it with me to the store.

I haven't found that many coupons...where do you get them all?

I have about 5 magazine subscriptions - airmiles has them on discount a few times a year. I am like a hawk at the store, on the lookout for clearance items and coupon books. I get all the save.ca coupons that we'd use, and I redo them every 45 days. My mom brings me all her coupons too. I also have a lot of friends who drop off coupons - I have a box full of extras I use for chains and giveaways. Once you start collecting them it goes fast, so many people don't use theirs and will pass them along to you if you ask.
