Here's a great site http://www.pickyourown.org/canadamb.htm to find out all the u-pick places in Manitoba. They update it a lot and it's a great resource!
We planted blueberries and strawberries this year - so far 1 strawberry to eat and 7 blueberries ripening...might need to go do some u-pick! ![]()
I love that a lot of the places you can either pick or buy already picked and some have jams, syrups etc. to sell too. It just isn't summer in Manitoba without some saskatoon pie or syrup, or pretty much anything else! Yum!
I'm thinking could even be a fun day later in the summer to go pick veggies - we have some in our garden but it's not that big.
What do you guys do? U-pick or buy at the store?

We purchased in store for jam. Superstore had 2 pound containers on sale for $2.50 plus reduced to clear stickers 50%off.
Strawberries $10.00
Certo 5X$2.20 $11.00
Sugar $5.00
Jars $5.00
Total $30.......works out to about $2.00 a jar. -

There's a place in Manitoba I forgot what's it called but basically you can pick all the strawberries you can fit in your basket. The thing was though as a little kid I would eat the strawberries before they got in the basket so it took a while to fill up.
