Winnipeg Library

Oh we are at the library weekly. We really started using it when we were homeschooling and our love has blossomed from there.
I love the programs and my oldest daughter is actually reading off her fines, which means she gets to keep her allowance
The online feature is great as well to reserve, request and renew your books without making a trip if it gets to busy.

Did you know that you can download certain books to your kindle, ipod, computer etc as well from the library site?
Pretty cool idea if you don't feel like leaving your house!

When my oldest daughter was growing up, she absolutely loved her books...favourite gift of all. Now, her oldest son who's 5 is following in her footsteps. Given a choice of activities, he'll always choose to go to the library therefore this is one thing that Grandma (me) can do with him that I know he's gonna love !

Only the kids can read off their fines and they have to be maxed out
So my son couldn't do it because he only owed a couple of dollars.

I love the library too! I've always got books on the go, and I love that they are pretty up to date with the television series/movies that they have. They are also much, much cheaper than renting at the store (as you pointed out), and you can usually get an entire season of a cable show for $2!

Audio books are great for long road trips when you're going on summer vacation, and the library has quite a few good ones.

My husband and I have listened to audio books a couple of times, thought they might put me to sleep but not at all. Our son usually watches dvds on a portable dvd player that doesn't use the car stereo for sound, so he has headphones for his movie and we get to listen to audio books!

I agree. I still prefer to research and pick books on library's bookends than the internet because I am sure that information on books are more reliable and validated.
